Quantity of Karma vs quantity of analysis.

Karma means action, duty, responsibility. Adhikara means right, entitlement.

What comes first? Karma or Adhikara?

Why does a citizen think and talk like a witness, when talking about "what has changed in India, are we better or worse than before?"
Why do we think of ourselves as only a judge, passing judgment on 'how much progress is there in our country, or how many problems there are"?

There's nothing wrong with pausing and discussing the 'progress' with our friends and family, every once in a while.
But where's the karma?
Where's the involvement?
What are we doing to add value?
What are we doing to contribute to this progress?
Aren't we a part of this country?
Isn't our own progress (in all spheres) as a responsible citizen crucial to the progress of the country?

Well, I think it is similar to talking about exam results the entire year, without studying for the exams.
It's like discussing 'am I getting better in academics?' every day, without actually opening a book or discussing a subject with a friend or a teacher.

Karma - that's what our culture teaches us.
Karma karo, phal ki chinta mat karo.

Keeping karma above the fruits or results of karma.
But all we want to do is discuss when will we get the fruits. Or think about, is my share of the fruit bigger and/or better than my neighbor? Or keep on analyzing whether today's fruits are bigger/better than last year's fruits.

Yes, analyzing fruit production is needed - it tells us if we are doing the plantation in the correct manner. It tells what worked, and what didn't.
And doing this analysis every year, or maybe every 3 months, will be good.
Today's corporate (especially IT world) world talks about Agile methodology - doing the analysis every fortnight, or maybe every week.
But for example, for someone who is trying to lose some bodyweight- they go to the gym every day and measure their weight every day.
And slowly, the focus and discussions are more on the results, the weight; rather than the karma - the exercise.
We all know what happens when someone talks more about the results of their workout than the actual workout.

All this seems to be simple enough to understand - more action, less analysis. By all means, do analysis. But more action, less analysis.

The least we can do for the nation - is to 'not be a problem' for it to progress.
Following the law, following basic traffic rules, a basic sense of waste management as per available amenities, common sense to utilize all existing resources efficiently with least wastage.
Not wasting food, buying only what we actually need, refusing to use items made of single-use plastic, maintaining basic sanitation, If possible, planting trees, etc, etc etc.

And if we say to ourselves that "we pay Income Tax", we all know how many of us would actually pay any Income Tax if we were given a choice!

Just another random thought.
