Young minds are always curious; they ask endless questions, and they ask themselves more than the others. One of the interesting facts that I have personaly discovered (and maybe many of you noticed it too) is that after some time, even though the questions remain the same, their answers change.
For example: QUESTION: What is the most important thing in life?
(There may be many answers, but here's what I perceive as an engineer):
ANSWER @ 16 years of age: 'To get into an IIT'.
@ 18 : 'To make a sexy girlfriend (and marry her before 24. After all, it's the love that makes the world go round, isn't it?)
@ 20 : 'To focus on career' (If I have the money, girls are going to come easy, and of course, without money, can anyone be happy?!?)
@ 22 : 'To get a decent placement, 9 to 5 job' (so that I get to spend time with myself and mum and dad. Girls? Bah! Just dating, no marriage till 28, atleast!)
As I said, personal opinions may vary; I have just tried to put the most general of answers.
However, volatile as my mind has always been, the kind of questions torrenting my skull most of the time has always been sort of 'weird'. And a prominent among them has been as to 'what is driving this world?' 'What invisible (read underlying) system or force makes the world go round, trascending boundaries of nationality, language, region and what not?'
You don't get the concept? You don't see the system? Let me elucidate a little. Take an example of the coconut oil you use at your home. A part of it may have come out of a coconut brought down by an 'aadivasi', with a completely different language or a lifestyle than ours. Or www.gmail.com, for example. Do you care who made it, how it works, or what goes on in the server site everyday? But still millions of people use it everyday. I can go on with lots of more examples of this 'system', but I think you get the pattern.
I have been asking this question to myself since age 15, and of course like any other young mind, I get different answers everytime. They all have been miles apart, some scientific, some controversial, some mythological. And they change every few weeks (which means this question is a real frequent flier in my brain... ...lawl).
HIGHLIGHTS: At 16, I thought it was governments which made the system work; you know, like foreign ministries working in collaboration and home ministry looking after the nation. At 17, I was in love, and thought it was the love, peace, and good feelings that made the world go round. At 18, I realised their were deeper meanings: like maybe the same frequency at which human beings think and respond. Meta-physics supports this theory, which can be seen in the basic human behaviour: everyman in the world comes back to his home every night after work. Its the man who is ought to earn more (than his wife) and much more things liks that.
But 3 days ago, while I was sitting under the tap in the hostel bathroom (u know, we engineers make a running tap feel like a shower! Hehe...), I had a brand new theory. I knew at the same instant that I would myself discard this theory after a few weeks , but thats the whole point in growing up, right?
So, the present thoery is “faith”. Ya, I know, many of you already beleive it, but it's my time to learn, ok?
Those of you wondering how a small word like 'faith' can describe the working of the entire world, well, that was my first point in this theory: can we describe everything in a single word? And the word I could narrow down to was faith. (Again, till the time I find a smaller and/or a better word).
So, how come faith? According to me, it's the faith of hundreds of passengers waiting for a particular train at a station that makes the particular train pass so many bridges and broken railway track links, get through one or more of the riots happening in India all the time, and reach the particular station. It is again faith in your hard work that makes you pass all the exams. It is the faith in your girlfriend/boyfriend that makes you love her/him (Just check out Emotional Attyachar if you don't beleive me). It is faith in the University you study (no matter how small that faith is), that keeps thousands of students from tearing it apart, which they can easily do if they get angry. It is the faith in the Government Roadways system that we prefer them to private buses, and are sometimes ready to pay even more for them. It is the faith that the coconut oil we buy will be good, that makes us buy it. It is the faith in vodafone that it charges are the best possible, that makes vodafone one of the most popular cellular service provider. It's the faith in some particular person or particluar political party that makes our government. It's the faith in the people who teach meta-physics that we find their theories reliable.
I think it was the faith of millions of people in Sachin that made him get to the 200 mark. And I think even the biggest of deals between the most prominent of world leaders also rests on faith. Well, you could argue, that they officially sign the document and keep their respective copies. But then, they both must have faith on the kind of ink that the other one uses. What, you didn't heard of 'invisible ink'? (It kind of disappears after some time, just imagine!)
The more I thoght about it, the more I could relate the 'faith' in every second of life. What if we loose the faith that we will exhale the next second? Will we inhale?
And if we just think about all those spiritual gurus and motivational speakers, they also are trying to make us have faith on ourselves, on good things of the world, on God. I didn't think about that earlier, but I think maybe they understand this faith thing very clearly. After all, I am just a 20 year old kid.
Won't give any conclusions. Even if this theory is incorrect, it will definitely be a major subset of the next theory which I think out. And it will be soon. Just have faith.
P.S. : I have faith that the blogger.com will smoothly publish this new post into my blog. What do you think, did it work?
